Hamilton NJ DWI Lawyer

Photograph of Hamilton Township Municipal CourtHamilton Township is the Mercer County municipality that consistently ranks second only to Trenton for DWI charges. This jurisdiction should not be confused with Hamilton in Atlantic County which is also a high volume DUI venue. Chances are good that you are among the exorbitant number of arrests made this year along the New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate 195 and 295, U.S. Route 130 and elsewhere in the town. If you want to be the exception rather than the norm in terms of conviction rate, you will need to retain a highly skilled DWI lawyer. There is no plea bargaining in a N.J.S.A. 39:4-50 case so the only way you will escape the penalties for DUI is to successfully attack the charge on its merits. There is no better course of action to achieve this objective than hiring the right attorney.

Our law firm has exceptional training and experience to insure that you have every chance of escaping the consequences of a guilty finding. There are three attorneys on our team that are dual certified on the Alcotest and as instructors in Field Sobriety Testing. These are the primary tools used by the police in Hamilton to establish intoxication. There are no more than ten lawyers in the state that hold both these credentials. An attorney on our staff, including one of our several former prosecutors, is ready to put our 100 plus years in practice into action on your behalf. To speak to a lawyer immediately or to set up an appointment in our Hamilton Office, call 877-450-8301.

Diagram of Hamilton Township Municipal Court, 1270 Whitehorse Mercerville Road #1, Trenton, NJ 08619Hamilton measures 104.6 square miles and every DUI issued within this area is the responsibility of township municipal court. The Hamilton Municipal Court is located 1270 Whitehorse Avenue, Hamilton, New Jersey 08619. The telephone number is 609-581-4071 and the office can be reached weekdays between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Lynn Hoagland, C.M.C.A., is the Court Director in charge of daily administration. There are ten court sessions each week which start every weekday at 8:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m.

There are restrictions that the court must following in resolving your Hamilton Township DWI case. The charge cannot be reduced or dismissed in the discretion of the prosecutor or even the judge. The reason is because NJ does not allow plea bargaining of a 39:4-50 offense. This makes it necessary for you and your lawyer to establish a genuine legal defect which negates the state’s ability to prove the charge. The court is also instructed to resolve drunk driving matters within sixty days of issuance of the related violation. The combination of these two rules make it extremely important that you retain the most skilled defense attorney you can find as soon as possible to insure that you have the best chance of avert a unfavorable result.
